Why right-click saves the wrong file
Pinterest generates several sizes of every image and serves whichever fits the layout: 236px in the grid, 564px in a column, and the full original only when you open the pin at full size. Right-clicking the grid saves the small one, and no amount of upscaling brings the detail back.
Paths on the CDN carry the size right in them — `/236x/`, `/564x/`, `/originals/`. We read the pin data and resolve straight to `/originals/`, which is the file the author uploaded.

Formats you get back
The file arrives in the format the author uploaded — usually JPG, sometimes PNG when the image has transparency. We do not convert or re-compress: converting a JPG to PNG makes a larger file with the same quality, and re-saving a JPG only loses detail.

Bulk: whole boards
Saving a moodboard one pin at a time is the point where the site stops being the right tool. The Chrome extension selects several pins on a board and downloads them together, into a folder you choose, with filenames built from the board and pin title.

Can I download a whole board of images?
Not through the site, which handles one pin at a time. The Chrome extension does it: select the pins on the board and download them in one go.
Will the image be upscaled?
No, and be wary of tools that promise it. We hand over exactly what the author uploaded. Upscaling invents pixels; it does not recover detail that was never there.
Can I use the images commercially?
Only if you own them or hold a licence. A photo being public on Pinterest says nothing about its copyright — most were uploaded by someone who is not the author.
