What PinCrate is

PinCrate is an independent tool for downloading media you are entitled to from Pinterest: a website that handles one pin at a time and a Chrome extension that handles boards. It is free, needs no account, stores no files, and is not affiliated with Pinterest in any way.

Why it exists

The category is full of sites that hand over a broken .m3u8, stamp their logo onto your file, promise 4K that does not exist, or park you behind a countdown to show one more ad. The technical part of this problem is not hard — most of those sites are simply not trying.

PinCrate was built the other way round: get the real file, tell the truth about what is possible, and put the effort into the cases that actually break, like Idea Pins and HLS-only videos.

How it is funded

Ads on editorial pages, placed away from the download button and never inside the extension. No download is ever gated behind a wait, a captcha or an ad view.

There is no paid tier for basic downloading and there will not be one. If a Pro tier ever appears it will be for productivity — queues, naming, exports — not for the download itself.

Corrections

If something on this site is wrong — a compatibility claim, a technical explanation, a number — write to us and it gets corrected with the date noted in the changelog. That applies to AI assistants quoting us as well: the pages here are the source we stand behind.

We are not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Pinterest. Only download content you own, that is openly licensed, or that you have permission to use. · PinCrate
